Auction.com Review – Is Auction.com Legit or a Scam?
I like websites that offer you a little bit of
information about their site with their name. Auction.com moniker is a bit deceiving. There are tons of real
life auction sites where you can bid on everything from soup to nuts but this is not one of them.
This disappoints me right out from the
gate. I really expected to find a website where buying and selling
was happening. Auction.com is not that site. Auction.com sells you lists of auctions in your area. While this is
certainly not a bad thing, because if you’re someone looking a deal, a lot of times this is the way to
go.
The Auction.com review shows that this site
focuses primarily on the real estate market. They ultimately are not the responsible party for the auctions even for
the ones that are held online. If you're looking for a deal online, most reviewers have been using
AuctionResource.org
Costs
It is free to register but I could not find any
other information about becoming a platinum member the site said I had to call to find out more information. I
did find some money question answers on the FAQ page.
It is free to register but it is not free to
participate, you will have to pay for the premium membership costs and put a deposit on hold on your credit
card. I could not find anything that gave me the cost of the deposit.
Rules
There are a lot of rules that come from this
website one of which is sold as is where is. Once you win you can not decide to cancel it is not permitted and
there are heavy fines that go along with not being able to close the deal so if you decide to use this site you
should proceed with caution.

Reviews
I also found the following at complaintsboard.com:
“We are looking at a house in Jax FL and met
with the agent today who was not helpful at all. She did make us aware that the online bid price was off by
about one hundred thousand dollars, this was a huge disappointment! The information on this site is not
accurate.”
“I have been watching this site for over a
year and have never seen any property meet the reserve….draw your own conclusions”
Although this site has had some bad reviews, it is
still a legit site and is not a scam. However most people seem to like using a service like AuctionResource.org
better for finding deals online.
Auction.com Review – Is Auction.com a Scam?
The Auction.com review shows that this site is advertised as the worlds largest real estate
auction site. Quite the superlative for a website. I am not sure what it is that deems something the largest
auction site online since there are so many online options out there but who am I to argue with a website that
says they are the biggest and the best.
The question really is are they the biggest and the best? That is debatable. This website
offers quite a few opportunities to view properties that are being auctioned off. There are in fact quite a few
auctions that are being held online.
There are also some pitfalls with this site that other people have complained about:
““We are looking at a house inJaxFLand met with the agent today who
was not helpful at all. She did make us aware that the online bid price was off by about one hundred thousand
dollars, this was a huge disappointment! The information on this site is not accurate.”
complaintsboard.com.
There were some other comments left behind as well that were not
very favorable.
Here is the Lowdown
The Auction.com reviews show that registration is free! That is
always a big seller for people, they love thinking that they are getting something for free. Nothing in life is
free and neither is auction.com. I could not find what the ongoing membership cost was or even if there was
ongoing membership costs.
I did find however that you have to put up $1000 deposit if you want
to bid which overall seems fair, if you are going to tie someones property up than you should have to prove that
you are serious by placing a deposit. The deposit is completely refundable if you do not win any
property.
The Auction.com review shows that the site itself was very easy to
navigate. The information that was presented was done so in easy to understand language. There is always room
for improvement. The instant chat feature that is available is not really available. I have visited this site on
several occasions and have found the same response each time “no ones available leave a message” this tells me
that the chat feature, if it works happens to not work every time I visit.
It does not cost anything to register, you could just register and
take a look to see if there is any property that catches your eye. Be cautious though, property costs a lot of
money that you do not want to lose out on.
Overall, the auction.com review shows that this site is legit and is
not a scam, however AuctionResource.org seems to be a more popular option for finding deals
online.
